Ogden sales spiked in December

The number of Ogden Utah homes sold in December rose over a year earlier for the sixth months in a row. Real estate agents in the area sold a total of 77 new and resale homes last month. That was up from the month before by 5.19 percent and up 31.17 percent from 53 in the same month the year ago, according to the report prepared by the local MLS.

The median paid price for all single-family homes sold in December was $84,900. That was down 17.48 percent from November and down 24.20 percent from the last year median of $129,900. The December’s median was so far the lowest in the record. Also, the year-over-year decline in median was the second highest for the year 2010 only behind 28.44 dropped in median which happened in March.

Another key price gauge that analysts watch, the median price per square foot for existing single-family Ogden Utah houses for sale. Median price per square foot in December was $51.77, down from both the month before and the year earlier which respectively logged median price per square foot of $53.11 and $62.89.
