Prices fall but home sales up for Weber County in November

The real estate in Weber County Utah market is continued to show mixed signs last month as home sales jumped while home prices and new listings fell. In November, closed sales of new and resale single-family homes in the area dropped 12.50 percent when compared to October, but 8.16 percent higher when compared to November 2010, according to the monthly report compiled by the WFR Multiple Listing Service, released last week. Under contract properties were 2.08 percent below the year-ago numbers.

However, the median price paid for all the homes sold last month was $135000, a decrease of 10.27 percent from $150,450 in the same month the year ago. That was also slightly down 3.85 percent from $140,400 in September. The average price for Weber County real estate homes sold in November was $146,296.

New listings or active Weber County homes for sale decreased 20.74 percent year-over-year and down 4.23 percent when compared to the month before. It can be a good sign for home sellers, but it might also reflect a lack of confidence on the part of potential home sellers.
